FAQ

What is a Unix timestamp?

It is the number of seconds (or milliseconds) elapsed since 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970. It is how almost every database and API stores a point in time.

Seconds or milliseconds?

Values larger than about 1,000,000,000,000 (1e12) are treated as milliseconds; smaller values are treated as seconds. This matches the standard convention used by most apps.
