Income Tax New Regime Calculator

Enter your gross annual salary and any NPS deductions allowed in the new regime to estimate your taxable income and income tax at the FY 2025-26 new regime slabs — free, private and instant.

In the new regime the standard deduction of ₹75,000 and employer NPS under 80CCD(2) are allowed; personal deductions (80C, 80D, HRA) are not.

What is an income tax new regime calculator?

A income tax new regime calculator (new tax regime calculator) estimates the tax you owe on salary under India’s new regime, the default from FY 2025-26. It subtracts the ₹75,000 standard deduction and any allowed deduction such as employer NPS under 80CCD(2) from your gross salary, then runs the result through the new regime slabs to give your taxable income and tax estimate.

The new regime lowers slab rates but removes most deductions, so the math is simpler and this free tool shows your projected tax in seconds. It runs entirely in your browser, so no salary details leave your device.

How to use

  1. Enter your gross annual salary from your Form 16.
  2. Enter the employer NPS contribution under 80CCD(2), if any.
  3. Click Calculate Tax to see your taxable income and tax estimate.

New regime slabs (FY 2025-26)

Up to ₹4,00,000 · 0%
₹4,00,001 – ₹8,00,000 · 5%
₹8,00,001 – ₹12,00,000 · 10%
₹12,00,001 – ₹16,00,000 · 15%
₹16,00,001 – ₹20,00,000 · 20%
₹20,00,001 – ₹24,00,000 · 25%
Above ₹24,00,000 · 30%

Taxable income = gross salary − ₹75,000 − employer NPS. A 4% cess is added, and the 87A rebate (up to ₹60,000) makes income up to ₹12,00,000 tax-free.

Example

With the defaults — a gross salary of ₹18,00,000 and no NPS contribution — the calculator subtracts the ₹75,000 standard deduction to get a taxable income of ₹17,25,000. The slabs give ₹1,45,000 of tax, and the 4% cess of ₹5,800 takes the total to about ₹1,50,800 — roughly ₹12,567 a month, or 8.4% of gross. Raise the employer NPS contribution and both taxable income and tax fall.
