What is attendance percentage?
Attendance percentage is the share of classes you have actually attended out of every class that was held, written as a number out of 100. It is the single most common metric that Indian colleges and schools use to decide whether a student is eligible to sit for an examination. The formula is simple: divide the classes you attended by the total classes, then multiply by 100. If 24 of your 30 classes were attended, your attendance percentage is 24 ÷ 30 × 100 = 80%.
Because it is a ratio, attendance percentage lets you compare attendance across subjects, semesters or institutions with very different numbers of classes. It also tells you how much margin you have left. At 80% you have room to relax; at 76% you are one absence away from trouble. How attendance percentage is calculated

To recover when you are below target, attend classes in a row without any further absences. The calculator finds the smallest run of classes that brings you back to the target.
Example
With the defaults — 24 attended out of 30 total classes — your attendance percentage is 80% (24 ÷ 30 = 0.8). You have missed 6 classes. At a 75% target, you can miss at most 7 out of 30 classes in total, so you can afford to miss 1 more class and still stay above 75%. Miss 2 more and you would drop to 22 ÷ 30 = 73.3%, below the threshold.
